- [Building Trust is Tricky](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/70065-building-trust-is-tricky) by Kae Wagner (Apr 14, 2022): Leadership GLUE: Tip #23

(PQ ~ Positive Intelligence) Leaders find out quickly that building trust is tricky. Management gurus will tell you to be authentic and vulnerable...and, that's a start. But there's much more to building trust than just authenticity and vulnerability.

Trust is built faster and with more meaning when a leader creates shared experiences with his/her team and then shares the joys of the wins and shares the pain of the losses.

A shared experience will take a leader much deeper into relationships and create sustainability in those relationships because experiences create a two-way interaction.

Working together on a shared project creates intimacy and alignment as a team makes progress toward a shared goal. Trust is built when the leader helps build the momentum and participates alongside the team.

Creating shared experiences is a powerful leadership skill that natural leaders do intuitively, but is a skill that can be learned and integrated into your leadership style.

Are you creating trust through shared experiences? If not, you are missing the secret sauce that all great leaders mix into effective team building. It's so simple...it's right in front of you...hiding in plain sight.

If you want ideas on how to create shared experiences, let me know. My passion is to help you take your workplace from a place of human tragedy to a place of developing human potential. Without trust, your culture will suffer.

- [Adele has Crazy Thoughts, too… She recently outed herself as an Imposter!](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/69938-adele) by Kae Wagner (Apr 10, 2022): Everyone's thoughts are going crazy and we're sabotaging themselves with thousands of negative thoughts throughout the day.

How do we stop this? Is it even possible to control these scattered thoughts and turn them from negative to positive?

Yes, it is possible to control our thoughts and flip the switch in our heads.

In Positive Intelligence (PQ) we call these crazy thoughts your Saboteurs. And, you can find out which of the Saboteurs are running the thoughts in your head with this assessment: https://kaewagner.simplero.com/page/249283-pqsaboteurlink

PQ helps you flip the switch from negative thoughts to positive thoughts that activate and your Self-Command muscle - that area of the brain that takes control of your thoughts, weakens the Saboteurs and generates Sage actions and intent.

When you identify the Saboteurs by taking the assessment, you will get the first glimpse of your auto-pilot thoughts that are the root cause of all your pain and suffering.

Even the most accomplished have Saboteurs. Recently Adele, the world's most well-known and beloved singer and songwriter, told her audience that she felt like she was an imposter, that her life was a mess and that she was an emotional wreck. This after canceling a Vegas residency that would have brought her additional millions. Adele, too, has Saboteurs that are messing with her head. Her life looks picture perfect...but no, she's not happy at all.

Take the Saboteurs Assessment and find out for yourself. https://kaewagner.simplero.com/page/249283-pqsaboteurlink
- [Tiger's Brief Moment before the First Tee](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/69875-tigers-brief-moment-before-the-first-tee) by Kae Wagner (Apr 7, 2022): Leadership GLUE: Tip #21

[PQ ~ Positive Intelligence) Day One of the Masters, 2022.

With great anticipation and excitement in the audience, Tiger Woods walks out of the Augusta Club House and sees a huge crowd waiting for his appearance.

It's reported that he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then strode up to the first tee! In that brief moment, Tiger calmed his mind and prepped himself for perhaps the toughest PGA Tournament in his already awesome career. (It was like he did a PQ Rep - a short meditation in real life!)

And, he delivered on the first round.
- [Next Level - Same Devil](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/69496-next-level-same-devil) by Kae Wagner (Mar 23, 2022): The Saboteurs in our heads would lead us to believe that we’ll find happiness and love when we get to the next level - finishing the acquisition, getting the next salary bump and bonus, landing the six-figure client, buying the bigger house, going on the luxury vacation, joining the most prestigious club…whatever the next level is for you.

But whenever you go up a level, you’ll find the “same devil” in your head and the search for love and happiness starts all over again. Discontent continues and the Saboteurs find more to be dissatisfied with.  What we were certain would fill the emptiness inside turns out to be fool’s gold.

The Saboteurs will always send us on a fool’s errand.

Your Saboteurs are run by the head guy: The Judge. Some call their Judge the "Executioner" or "Wicked Queen" as the Judge runs the show and is assisted by nine Accomplice Saboteurs who will tell you you’re an Imposter, a fake, not worthy, you don’t count, and it’s only a matter of time until everyone else knows and rejects you.

When you identify the loudest Saboteurs in your head you can weaken them so they don’t run your life anymore.

The first step is to identify your Saboteurs through this assessment: Click Here for a Saboteur Assessment Link.
- [It's Messy in the Middle ](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/64429-its-messy-in-the-middle) by Kae Wagner (Jan 12, 2022): [Leadership EQ] Getting started is always the easy part. It’s the middle that gets messy. Take the beginning of a new year, for example. Business Owners usually have their strategic plans in place, their resources budgeted, their goals set…they are ready to go.
- [Are You the GLUE or the Sticking Point in Your Business?](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/63137-are-you-the-glue-or-the-sticking-point) by Kae Wagner (Nov 29, 2021): Are you the GLUE that holds your company together or are you the sticking point?

Business Owners: you work hard, but it’s not just hard work that makes a business successful.
It’s so much more.

Your Business Success is way more dependent on the markets you choose to serve, the products and services you offer, and how you lead your people.

Your business success is NOT based on how hard you work, how many hours you slave away, and your belief that success has to be difficult.

- [When Will You Be Ready to HAND OFF? The NEW 80/20 Rule](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/62734-when-will-you-be-ready-to-hand-off-the) by Kae Wagner (Nov 22, 2021): When will YOU be ready to Hand OFF and move to your next 'Big Thing'? Use the 80/20 Rule...a new interpretation.

In Leadership Glue: Be the GLUE in Your Business without Getting Stuck in the Daily Grind we address how to go from Hands ON to Hands FREE to Hand OFF so you can grow your business, have financial and time freedom, and get on to the next big thing you are meant to be doing next.

The Hand OFF phase is often challenging for Business Owners because it means they have to have faith in their team to keep the daily operations going. This transition brings up fears of letting go too soon, not trusting the process, and the "monkey mind" spiraling out of control with thoughts of failure and doom.

But, there's a litmus test you can use to gauge when you, and your team, is ready for a Hand OFF.

I just learned about it...it's the NEW interpretation of the 80/20 Rule.

The new interpretation, as it applies to Hand OFF, is that you are ready to Hand OFF when your team can do the task/project/job 80% as well as you can.  Then they are ready to step up and you are ready to step away.

It's like a runner handing off the baton in a relay race and handing off the baton to an equally competent teammate who can take the baton across the finish line.

80% ability to do the task or project as well as you...that's the way to measure when it's time to Hand OFF.
- [Get the Monkey Off Your Back](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/62726-get-the-monkey-off-your-back) by Kae Wagner (Nov 19, 2021): My friend owns a business and he's doing fine...except for one thing that keeps happening.
He was telling me that he seems to get caught doing other people's work...other people meaning the team members he hired to do what he used to do.

He reports that they frequently come to him with problems and he feels he always has to solve them!

Business Owner Alert!  My friend is allowing his people to take the monkey (the problem) off of their back and put it on his.

He's putting the monkey on his back and thinking it's his job to solve the problem.

And, now that this is happening too often, he is feeling very resentful toward the people he hired to fix the problem.

When this first happened, he thought it was just that he had made a bad hire, the person wasn't as good at the job as he originally thought and eventually, the new hire would catch on.

But then this "monkey on his back" scenario kept happening and now it's a pattern that he doesn't know how to break.
- [Words Not to Use When You're Selling](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/62725-words-not-to-use-when-youre-selling) by Kae Wagner (Nov 18, 2021): When you work in sales, being told “no” comes with the territory.

But the better you hone your pitch, the more you’re going to hear “yes.”

Be thoughtful about what you say — and don’t say. Word choice matters when you’re trying to communicate your message to a potential buyer.

For example, words like “best,” “unique,” “innovative,” and “cutting edge” often sound hollow.

Instead, use specific, objective terms that actually describe what you are selling. Also, ease up on the pressure tactics.

- ["Just Like Family" will Break Your Business...and Your Heart!](https://kaewagner.simplero.com/blog/62627-just-like-family-will-break-your) by Kae Wagner (Nov 15, 2021): We spend so much time at work that it’s no wonder we start to feel like family in the business.

We develop relationships focused on the project at hand; but these relationships serve many functions beyond the completion of that project.

Our relationships at work help us grow in our career and give us friendship, emotional support, connection, and a shared sense of satisfaction in a job well done.

According to Harvard Business Review (HBR), "when an organization uses the family metaphor in business, it creates a positive, motivating, and morale boosting culture where colleagues are not seen as colleagues anymore but as brothers or sisters."

But here’s the downside…
